i have seen many people who say they are open minded about other religions when really they only agree to dis agree.
to truely be open minded about religion you must look out side your faith. for example on a old piece of wood there is writen the following staements:
1 statement is false, this is the true answer
2 statements are false, this is the true answer
... all the way up to
100 statements are false, this is the true answer
all 100 statements are claiming to be right. but only one is. the only way to truly know is to look at all the statements. this is how i believe we should approch religion. in the example above the corect answer would be "99 statements are false, this is the true answer".
now you may believe that statement 99 = christanity and for you maybe it does but statement 99 might equal islam to someone else.and maybe this piece of wood was broken ans is missing statements 101,102 and 103 in that case #99 is wrong
with this in mind are you/should you be open-minded about religion

Michael M i gave you answer a poor rateing because you equate religion to math why is an answer right in math??? because it has proof. if i put a math problem into bionary (1'sand 0's) and tell you the answer is 10011000111010101000101 would you believe me . no you would figuer it out for yourself. so why is it differnt for you when it come to the bible. in the example above change it to be about religion change my input to the bible. the problem is how do i get where i want to go. the bible says jesus is the only way to tell if the bible is telling the truth you must look for answers outside of it

Religion is the ultimate con. It is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. Little wonder so many people jump on this manured money wagon. There is no point tolerating the intolerable.

I believe I am open-minded. I think that we should be firm in our own faith without criticizing somebody else's.

I don't like to see argumentative questions and answers about religion. We should be willing and able to explain what we believe, and why we believe it without totally negating the faith of other people.

Most people who have very strong faith were given that gift as very small children, and as long as they continue to practice what they truly believe is right, I don't feel they can go wrong.

I don't like to see blatant attacks against Atheists, nor against Christians or Muslims, or any other Religion.
If a person is on the wrong track, God will eventually find them and lead them to the truth; we are not put on earth to judge one another.

I don't believe that your argument applies to religions. However I do think that it's important to look at an argument from many different points of view.

If you are presented with a math problem, you don't have to look at thousands of different ways to do the problem wrong. If you come across the perfect proof, you don't have to look at all of the other incorrect proofs to know it's correct.

There is a difference between being open-minded about religion, and using that open-mindedness as an excuse to deny truth.

I believe I am open-minded about religion, and I try my best to be. And one should be.

They're all true, all religions. Even the lack there of.

I beleive in God, not any organized religion. I think the philosophy of THIS religion is correct and everyone else is stupid for beleiving in something else is perverted. As long as a person is kind to their fellow man/woman and charitable--then I beleive that God smiles on him/her.
