Sounds like a sprain..
Keep it elevated and put ice on it
Take some tylenol and try not to put any weight on it..
If it gets worse then you need to see a doctor

Sounds like their is a good chance you sprained an ankle, but this can only be confirmed by physical exam. Elevate your ankle, keep the swelling down with ice and Ibuprofen, call your doctor to see him/her in the morning. If you are really concerned than go to the ER.

You may have sprained your ankle which is pretty much tearing your ankle ligaments. I'd see the trainer about it if I were you. You may also have either bruised your bone or muscle, but that wouldn't explain the popping. You could have dislocated a ankle bone. There are 7 bones in your ankle and one of them could be damaged.

If swollen, pack it in ice and get thee to a doctor, lest it be broken and need help getting back together. If only sprained, which is worse than breaking, you will need an air cast to immobilize you ankle and leg while the joint heals itself. And yes, Clyde, it is going to hurt.

Put some ice on the ankle right away and wrap it as tight as you can with a compression bandage or even a scarf or towel. Then get yourself (or get someone to help you) to a doctor!

Ice it, elevate it, stay off it, see a doc. I hope that it's a break and not a major sprain like I had because it heals better that way... good luck!
