I still have not decided if I wanted to breed my pup, I have a chasity belt for her so when she goes in heat I don't have to worry so much about her unsuspectingly getting knocked up. I'm having a hard time getting a definitive answer about when to expect it.

You should really get her spayed. It can be done now...and should be done before her first heat for the greatest health benefit. By spaying her, you'll be saving the lives of countless dogs. There are far too many pets in shelters now looking for good homes...do you really want to contribute to that? Dogs average about 1 year of age for their first heat, some take less and some take longer.

She will probably go into heat anytime now. Is there a reason you are not getting her spayed ? Are you aware that the more heat cycles a dog goes through the higher her risk of mammary cancer? Something to think about.

It might happen within the next couple of weeks or maybe after she is a year old. One of my girls was 21 months old before she came in heat. I have 2 girls from the same litter, they are a year old, one has been in heat twice and the other still hasn't come in yet.

Never because you should get her spayed since you are clueless about breeding. The world does not need anymore pet quality, backyard bred puppies.

I had a yorkie that entered heat at 10 months; she was immediately spayed.

just get her spayed, so many animals are killed daily because their owners diddnt spay or nuder their pets. and in the end, its better for the dog aswell, small breeds have a harder time and it really takes a toal on them
