You should be shooting to lose about 2 to 3 pounds per week. You could potentially lose more.
Also, you might want to throw is at least a couple days a week doing some resistance training, such as, lifting weights, push ups, squats, abdominal crunches, etc.. This will help increase your muscle slowly, which causes you to burn more calories, and decreases your bodyfat percentage (Your real goal).
