Boiled eggs are boiled in the shell in boiling water.
Poached eggs are cooked without the shell.
Add some vinegar to the water and bring to a boil. Break the egg shell and slowly, "gingerly" let the egg slide into the water. Cook until the egg white is firm, but the yolk still soft and liquid. Take it out with a slotted spoon.
One very popular way to serve poached eggs is Eggs Benedict.

No; boiled eggs are boiled in their shells anywhere from 2-4 minutes depending on how you like them; put them in a special egg holder, "tap" off the top of the shell, add salt and pepper and scoop out; poached eggs are usually added to slightly boiling water with some sort of vinegar or lemon added (it keeps the whites together instead of boiling away into strands of egg whites); gently scoop the boiling water over the eggs while they're cooking-cook for about 2 minutes and remove with a slotted spoon. Hint: add 1 egg at a time into a teacup and gently add to slightly boiling water for poaching.

no.
to boil an egg, the egg, in the shell, is placed into water to cover the egg. The water is brought to a boil and is boiled for 3 to 4 minutes.
to poach an egg, bring water to a slow boil, break the egg and carefully slide the egg into the boiling water. don't break the yolk. This can also be done in a microwave oven using utensils made for poaching eggs.

No...when you boil eggs, you boil them in their shell.
When you poach them, they're out of their shell in a small metal dish set in a pan of water and steamed.
