I constantly see people asking intelligent questions (and sometimes, not so intelligent) questions, reasonable answers from people who are either with that religion not, and despite this, the most bias, rude, and cutting remarks as the best answer? Dose anyone really think that God approves of people trying to besmirch other’s believes in him? Yahoo! Answers aside, I understand that many religions have different opinions and views, but wouldn’t it just be more God-like, Christ-like, and overall kind and humane to just dwell on similarities and help strengthen faith in one another, regardless of religious backgrounds?

I also agree with your assessment. There seems to be much more bashing & pushing around here than honest, intelligent, and compassionate interaction. I've seen professionals debate this topic and that only made me want to learn & study more.

No one wants to suffer 'conversion' by having another person's beliefs thrust down their throats as if they weren't smart enough to reason things through themselves.

The only way that this will change, and it's a stretch, would be for everyone to truly care about the *people* they are interacting with. Respect, kindness, compassion, are not unknown to most religions and theoretically 'practiced'. I wish there were more out there that could do this without taking offense, or giving it.

When people believe stuff that we are sure beyond any reasonable doubt is nonsense, would we be doing the right thing by letting them believe it unchallenged? Even if there were no adverse real-world consequences, I don't think that would be right. People never regret being enlightened - they are always grateful that people didn't just let them carry on believing insupportable ideas, but instead helped them see how to think things out for themselves. That's what we atheists try to do.

As it is, there are very real and very serious real-world consequences of religious belief, up to and including mass murder, so there's even more reason to help people overcome it.

I'm sorry if you confused Y!A with a church. This is not a house of God. It's a forum for the exchange of ideas. The questions posed and answers given here reflect the views of the people of the online world, not the Christian or Religious point of view.

There are a lot of people who use Yahoo answers to bash different religions, and people from almost all religions are guilty of it, too. We see cutting remarks from Christians, Atheists (assuming that's a religion), Pagans, etc. Unfortunately, I guess we're going to see that any time there is an open forum for people to talk and ask questions about religion, mainly because people's feelings about that topic tend to be pretty strong.

I totally agree with you. Why can't we just share ideas and opinions with one another in a humane way?In a world with so many people and countries there are bound to be many different beliefs. We should all be intitled to our own beliefs.I believe in God Almighty but that doesn't mean I can't listen to someone else's belief without knocking them down.

I don't mind honest debate. It's a good way to learn something new - be it a change of belief or a reinforcement of what you already believed. But when it degrades to rude ugliness and **** words it's just immature, disgusting and not particularly intelligent.

the devil would not be doing his job if someone wasnt being bashed.the devil is real and so is hell .God is real and so is heaven .there is a battle going on between the two kingdoms.but we know that the devil.has already lost the battle.but he wants to take as many out as he can before Jesus returns .

so dont let him push you around like this .its not the person that is saying these things but the spirit working in them.
so we have to come back with the Word of God.
the devil is like this 1 samuel 15 ;23 but we should like this
