I have lived in Marietta, Ga. for 38 years ( all my life ) and I can honestly say,as far as tornadoes touching down, there have only been 3 that I know of. The last one going srtaight down highway 41, barely missed the huge big chicken but wiped out the kmart across the street. It took out car dealership signs all down the highway then finally went away. The other two were many years ago and did a small amount of damage. This meaning they barely touched down. One was in the early 90's and the other one in 1984. Not sure if it is because there aren't as many trailor parks there because tornadoes seem to love trailor parks. Off Glade Rd. in Acworth one touches down at least every year and on this rd. there is nothing but trailor parks. They get it every time.

Ive lived in Marietta all my life.. I can remember a few. The last one was a few months ago.. Seemed like it went straight down South Cobb Drive. One in 96 - 97 took out the dairy queen on South Cobb Drive. Then one that hit Osborne High School back in the early 90's there are alot of trailer parks... go down Atlanta Road near Austell.
