I took effexor for a little while, and I'll tell you what, I was much better off than on. It made me hysterical and basically frantic. It's a drug that has to suit a very specific disorder, or else it can really cause some damage. When I came off of it, the worst thing that happened was that I was a bit dizzy. Also, I don't know if it's a good idea to take St.John's Wart while you've still got effexor (or any anti-depressant) in your system. It can cause interactions that may be harmful. I'f you're worried about not being able to have any for 5 days, I'd suggest contacting your GP, or trying a clinic and getting a temporary perscription.

First, call your Dr. If they're not in have them paged, ask them to get you a temporary refill. If you can't depending on your dosage, so of the side effects or withdrawal are listed on your package information sheet, if you don't have that use your search to look up withdrawal symptoms from effexor. From a long time user of effecxor xr the with drawl effects are not pleasant.

Call your Md, tell him/her you need samples. Worst case scenario, if you can't have any 5 days, you should be OK, most of the nasty stuff happens after that like in the second week. Don't panic. At least you can get some in 5 days, you should be ok, but if you are going to panic, try to get some samples!

Shaking, nervousness, anxiety, possibly nausea... headache. So sorry, I've been there and it's no fun. I'm hoping you will fare better than I did.
