I am in IB as well and I know exactly how you feel. It is hard enough to keep up with all the homework much less other activities. I am in a variety of clubs though and I have found if you meet the minimum requirement of service hours for the club then you are OK. Maybe every other weekend you could do something for your club and spend the rest of your time working academically. Remember first and foremost the colleges will look at your GPA then for clubs, so only do what you think you can keep up with an good luck!

High schools understand that extracurricular activities are a really crucial part of a resume/application for college. You can join a business club with probably no problem in regards to time and get a line to put on your application. It really does look a lot better and you may make some friends in the process.

You don't HAVE to do any extracurriculars, but I'd definately look into a club. It's fun and meetings are usually held before school in the morning or right after school.

You don't have to join anything at school at all. But it's more fun if you do.
You're at the beginning of the most exciting & busy 4 years of your life. Do all you can, be all you can. Take it to the max and enjoy it.'

its totally understandable. if u do community service u'll be just fine. school activities don't effect much. just have fun thru h.s. you can join a club that you like, not something you think you have to join.
