I believe Teaching and Christ was called Teacher. Personally I am more likely to listen to someone teaching me what they believe than preaching to me what to believe. How do you feel?I want to add that if one walks what they teach I am also more likely to listen.

I am a spiritual teacher. I do live what I teach. I do not believe that you have as great of audience if you are preaching. People tend to get board when they are being preached too.
Several of my clients are shocked by how I teach and how I live my life. One is exactly as the other. This way I never have to be concerned with what others see or hear about me.
Great Question.
God Bless Debra

it depends on who taught the teacher. Pope on down to the lowliest form of life when the pope is wrong the whole kit and caboodle is wrong Until they reread the holy words then do what they say .then I'll listen. I know they will say we have doctors of theology teaching . but their teaching what they been taught and it goes back to the instigators of this prefabrication. the Debra in judges would check the truth out so you have a calling with a name like hers

They can both be effective tools, teaching can be more intimate but lacks the broadband ability that preaching has to reach people that have never heard the Gospel. EG: It is more likely that I can get an unbeliever to come to a church service and hear preaching then it is that I can get them to come to a Bible study.

And how many times have we been in a classroom where the instructor taught what they believed? If one preaches or teaches it is not supposed to be their own words but Gods spoken through the Holy Spirit.

Teaching by far.

When you preach, all you are doing is standing there and telling people what you believe in.

Teaching, not only lets you tell people what you believe in but also how you put it into action.

There should be no difference. For a pastor teaching should take place and in fact be the core reason for any sermon. While I have never been a pastor I did do pulpit supply ( substitute) for ten years in the 80s. My sermons were intended to teach. In fact a good sermon should have an element of counseling in it.
