I have to make about 100 cuts to do my floor project and am thinking about buying a saw that appears like a small table saw with a reservoir under the blade. It is on ebay for under $100 and my question is will this do the small project sufficiently without being overly dangerous to the user as I can't see paying a lot of money for more expensive saw for one time use.

Yes you can do it with a cheap wet saw - I have done that and it works well. If you're doing your floor in a weekend, it will be cheaper to rent than buy. But if you're like me and can only do it every other weekend, makes sense to buy one.

100 cuts depending on the size of the tile might be a bit much. Without knowing tthe brand, or the size of the motor, etc. and in enjoying e bay, I'd suggest an alternative first.

I've installed thousands of sq. ft. of tile and for a job with that many cuts I'd likely use a tile saw, but you can purchase a decent "Break" which is manual, but does an adequate job for less money. I also use a grinder with a cutting wheel for small cuts, angles, corners, etc.

You might use an inexpensive tile cutter to make your initial cut then purchase a diamond grit blade for an angle grinder to smooth or finish rough areas or if you made the cut to tight. This will remove unwanted material.
Also these tools can be rented.

Unless you are in the business, go to some place like Home Depot and rent a good one for the job at a fraction of the cost.
