I wouldn't mention it the first time; I'd wait and see if it happened again. I'd confront her on the second time.

If I could afford a cleaning lady, I wouldn't worry about a container of yogurt. However, I would keep my eyes open to see if it happens again. If it does then you might want to set some clearer ground rules. Maybe she's devoting her earnings to children, bills, etc....& she's not holding back enough to feed herself. Maybe add as a perk for her a snack, or meal, per day that is set aside just for her.
Also, just in case...since some people can be less than honest. Watch carefully your other possessions to make sure you're not missing anything else. If things are gone & if you can't come to some understanding with your house-keeper, then you probably need to invest in the cost of replacing her with someone that would more fit in your house-hold.

It depends on how long you have had her for. I would let the first offence go but if it happens again, then you've got a problem and should speak to her. She is there to clean your house and if she is hungry, she should bring her own food. Now, if you were there at the time she was cleaning then she should have asked you. If you were not there then she couldn't have asked you first. She probably thought that you wouldn't notice.

No, I wouldn't confront her. I would catch a good yogurt sale and buy like 40 little tubs and take EVERYTHING else from the fridge to a neighbor's house in a box and stock up the fridge when she comes next time. Just to screw with her mind. Put little pink ribbons on a spoon and take out all the rest of the spoons from the drawer.

There is a principle here..."do not muzzle the ox which treads out the corn." She is working in your home. Did you fail to let her know any rules about eating or taking items? All you need to do is let her know it is alright if she has something to eat from your refrigerator, providing she does not cut an uncut cake or pie for guests. I would be as polite about it, and as kind as possible. If she is a good servant to you, then respect her and treat her like a honored servant in your home. What would you want to be done to YOU if YOU were cleaning her house?

I'd fire her. If you mention it to her, you'll only cause more problems for yourself down the line. The fact that she took a food item out of your fridge at all, shows that she might be willing to get sticky fingers later on with your other items.
People who do that kind of thing, it's sort of a rebellious act. It's not really because they are hungry, it's really because they have some deep seated resentment for you and if you watch closely you'll probably see that they do other things to disrespect your home when you're not looking.

Yes, mention to her and tell her not to eat anything from your fridge. Deduct the cost of the yogurt from her fee.

Probably should have talked about things like what's off limits when you hired her.
I would mention it to her that you don't mind her eating certain things but that you would like for her to ask first. Maybe this would be a good time to have the talk about what's off limits.

On one hand, maybe her blood sugar was low and she needed something to eat. On the other hand, why couldn't she just leave you a note, saying she had to "borrow"one of your yogurts. Yogurt isn't the issue, trust is.

Maybe you were not around to ask-I would buy some yoghourt especially for her and tell her where it is in the frij.
I would also leave a sandwich and piece of fruit and a drink for her-or some sort of snackj if it not lunchtime.

It was a yogurt. Come on. Now if she stripped and rubbed the yogurt on her body and and started break dancing to "Ice,Ice Baby",THEN I would say something .
