First of all if you are having trouble with repeating a sin then you have not truly repented. Repentance doesnt come from trying to keep from being condemned, it comes from genuinely wanting to live for God. Living for God means genuinely caring for others and acting on it, no matter what faith you fallow.
If you truly want to repent then you must stop being so selfish. Assuming you are Christian (I am not) I would suggest that you follow his example and go into the wilderness to purify as he did.

Read Romans 7. Paul had the same problem. It's not that you 'can't do' that sin again. You can and will. What happens is that over time, knowing Jesus makes a difference in your life. He changes you so that eventually, that thing that held you captive goes away. The trick is to keep your focus on him, not on the sin.

We are not perfect Jesus was the only one completly without sin. We make mistakes. We can ask forgiveness every time we sin. But we should aim not to do that sin again and it is possible. I've seen it done.

You have to be willing - your free will enters in here. You have to be willing to at least make a sincere effort to not commit that sin ever again. You have to try not to do it any more. If you honestly try and fail, you can ask forgiveness and receive it - but if you make no effort at all, then there's no point.
You have to have enough presence of mind to know why you are committing this sin and why you keep choosing to do it - and yes, it's your choice. You are doing it. No one is forcing you to do it. You have to decide what's more important to you - doing God's will or your own.

Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said Lord how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? (22) Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee until seven times: but until seventy times seven.
Jesus isn't really saying to count the times we need to forgive, but if we need to forgive each other for sins, don't you think our heavenly Father would forgive us.
Paul said he doesn't do the things he should do; and he does the things that he hates Romans 7:15
Just keep Praying and asking for forgiveness.

Think on These Things

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

When Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, He took upon Himself the punishment for every sin you have ever committed—or ever will commit. God's mercy is infinite! This is why the Bible says, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12).
Does this mean that it doesn't matter how we live, or that we don't need to confess our sins and seek His forgiveness when we do wrong? No, certainly not. God is holy and pure, and sin is an offense to Him. When we sin, we dishonor Him and act as if we are more important than He is. Sin also cuts us off from God and breaks our fellowship with Him. The Bible warns, "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened" (Psalm 66:18).
But God still loves us even when we sin and yearns for us to come to Him and seek His forgiveness. Don't ever doubt His love, and don't ever doubt His willingness to forgive us when we truly repent! God loves you so much that His Son was willing to die on the cross for you.
Have you opened your heart to Christ? Make sure of your commitment to Him. Then ask Him to help you conquer those things that keep pulling you down. You can't conquer them in your own strength—but with Christ's help you can. Thank Him for His mercy, and turn to Him each day for the power to overcome sin.
The most important truth I can tell you is that God loves you and wants to forgive all your sins so you can be with Him forever in heaven. He loves you so much that He has done everything that is necessary to make your forgiveness possible. He did this by sending His only Son into the world to take away your sins by His death on the cross.
Let me use an example to illustrate this. Suppose you owed the bank a very large sum of money—so large that you knew you could never repay it. But then suppose that one day a very wealthy friend came along and said, "I went to the bank and paid your debt, and now you don't owe them anything." What would you do? You'd have two choices: You could disbelieve him and go on worrying about the debt—or you could accept what he did and believe it.
This is what Jesus Christ did for you! He paid the debt you owe God because of your sins—and now all you have to do is repent of your sins and believe it. Open your heart to Christ today, and thank Him for paying the debt you owed God for your sins. The Bible says, "In him we have ... the forgiveness of sins" (EphIt isn't enough for us simply to be sorry because we've done wrong. Judas was very sorry because he betrayed Jesus; the Bible says he "was seized with remorse" (Matthew 27:3). But it wasn't enough, and in spite of his remorse, Jesus said Judas was "doomed to destruction" (John 17:12). He ended up committing suicide.
You see, something needs to be added to our sorrow for our sins—and that is repentance. To repent means to turn from something or to change our attitude about it—and when we truly repent of our sins, we turn from them (with God's help) and change our attitude toward them. Jesus' first recorded sermon begins with these words: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near" (Matthew 4:17).
But something else needs to be added to our repentance—and that is faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us. Jesus was without sin, but on the cross all our sins were placed on Him, and He took the judgment we deserved. He did for us what we could never do for ourselves, and because of Him we can be forgiven.
The most important decision you'll ever make is what you will do with Jesus. Will you ignore Him—or will you turn from your sins and trust Him alone for your salvation? God loves you; He loves you so much that He sent His only Son into the world to die for you. By faith turn your life over to Him today. esians 1:7). This is God's promise to you.
