Back then everyone was a Jew on that land, the man was born in Bethlehem and has to be credited with the invention of a religion, but that is according with the scriptures, someone had the time to write all that, but the only thing that I know is that in the name of Jesus there are the so called ministers pulling bundles of money from those who are willing to give.. ?.. not me.. cyb

Yes Jesus was a Jew. Jewish is defined by lineage, more specifically by the mother's lineage, or heritage, not place of birth. Jesus' mother was from the lineage of David therefore Jesus was a Jew. But he was never king per se. At the time the Jews and Jerusalem was under the Roman empire, and there was no Jewish King. But Jesus affirmed to be the Messiah. The Jewish believed when the messiah came he would deliver them from the Romans and became King of the Jews. Hence the title, that was written right above Jesus on the cross in mockery of his allegations.

Jesus was indeed a Jew. He was born to a Jewish family and raised as a Jew.

Being a Jew has nothing to do with being born in Jerusalem. Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

Yes, Jesus was a Jew-that's a nickname for the TRIBE of Judah. Christ was actually born into the old Israelite Nation as the Messiah for that nation--we know he was rejected by the Jews (old Israelite Nation) and so then God rejected them and opened up The Way to the world--those born outside that nation.-- only now, no more sacrifices! Now the Way to God's Forgiveness of mortals' sins is through the Christ(Messiah) the perfect and final sacrifice--FROM GOD HIMSELF----!!!!

jesus was a jew and this is proven by following facts:

he refers to himself as a son of Abraham, Abraham is a very important person in the history of the Jewish people
in his speeches he often mentions jewish psalms
on sabbath he goes to the synagoge
he refers to many historical jewish people and sometimes he even quotes the jewish bibble
he also takes part in the jewish holidays

jesus never wanted to start a new belief, he just wanted jewish people to go back to the true meaning of belief

because of their land had been conquered by the romans the jewish people were scared that their belief and culture might not survive all the new influences

so public figures became very strict and desired that all people would live like the bible says

jesus however looked at the bible in another way he said that the bible was there to serve the people and not the other way around
Jesus wanted to bring the bible and more precisely the thora back to its true meaning and this wasnt being the 'rules of how to live your life' but a way for every human to meet God and other people

He was a Jew. Both his mother and father were Jews, which therefore makes Jesus a Jew as well.

A Jew is anyone whose mother was a Jew -- the place of birth does not matter.

Of course, many think Jesus was a fictional character. Even so, he would be a Jewish fictional character.

I don't think you have to be born in Jerusalem to be considered a "jew" Do you have to be born in Washington DC to be considered an 'American'? Get real. Jesus was a Jew. I am an American. He was not born in Jerusalem, I was not born in Washington. Get it? Make sense? OK then!
