they look like worms does anyone know what they taste like

these ppl are all lyin to u. the answer is yes. the cultivate the worms feeding them only beef. then wen they reach 2 months old, the dip live worms in batter and dip them in the fryer!!

I think it is just one of those urban myths that ethnic restaurants use weird ingredients in their cooking. Worms are a lot more difficult to get hold of than minced beef. They are probably more expensive. So why should they use worms to substitute minced beef? It looks like worm because that's how minced beef looks after it has been fried in a lot of oil. I have never tasted chilli beef but it sounds like a tasty dish. I'm quite sick when people spread rumours about ethnic restaurants using rats or other strange animals in their dishes. The risk of losing their license and their livelihood doesn't justify doing things like this. Most people will try to cut cost if they can, but not to this extent.
