My parents didn't attend a church. So I have found my own path.

My parents raised me as a Christian, in a Protestant Church. I still have the same basic faith that I was given as a child; however, I joined the Catholic Church two years after I got married. I chose to change because I felt the Holy Spirit and experienced an inner conversion when I was attending Mass with my husband and his parents. I had quit going to church a few years earlier when I went away to college, because I felt that something was missing.

I had always been curious about the Catholic faith because 1) my friends and boyfriends always turned out to be Catholic, so I felt more comfortable with people of that faith.... and 2) the Protestant church I went to actually talked about the Catholic Church, which made me think there must be something special about it, if it is important enough to gain the attention of other churches.

I prefer the Catholic Mass because they stress the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, and they have communion at every Mass.. it seems like it's more between you and God, because new people at Catholic Churches are not asked for their name and address... you can go any place in the country and the Mass will be the same... they do not push evangelism and try to talk total strangers into becoming Catholic... they stand up for what they believe and do not waver when it comes to important matters of faith. This is the way I feel; I'm sure some people would disagree with me, that's just my point of view from living for decades in each religious environment.

I'm not the same faith as either of my parents. My mother is LDS Mormon and they just don't make sense to me, especially when back in the day blacks couldn't be priests (I am black). My father is a mason and that type of religion too has too many restrictions and is organized way too hierarchical.

I come very close to Buddhism since I think that a relationship with God is personal first of all. But also that God is not necessarily an old white man with a beard or a black female for that matter. So basically for the fact that they seek to find God through an organization and I seek it more in a sort of individuation (without once again seeing God as an individual), I think it is only logic for me to have chosen my own path over time. As a little kid you basically have nothing to say as to where you want to do your religious practice.

My parents were United Methodists. My mother actually grew up Church of God, but converted when I was young.

I am an Anglican. I think most of Protestantism, and in fact ALL of the fundamentalists, are unrepentant heretics and they MUST quickly come back to the true teachings and not lead other people astray.

I attend an Episcopal church near my home. I like it a great deal. It is very warm and welcoming, and the Episcopals are very good Bible scholars. MUCH better than any fundie who usually doesn't have anything more than an 8th grade education!

Episcopals do take the Bible seriously but they don't take it literally. There is a difference.

My parents are catholic, but I am atheist. Religion is beginning to become a thing of the past, being that all of the questions religion could never answer and therefore made poor excuses to make it all seem simpler are now finally being proven by current science and technology.

I was raised a christian, deconverted later in life. I didn't choose to become an atheist, I decided to closely examine my faith, and eventually realized it didn't hold up to scrutiny. As soon as I realized that, I became an atheist again.
