For something that "short term" you should just stick with condoms....most of the pills, shots, etc. will just mess with your "system."

If you only want it for a week, use condoms. Any type of pill will require you to use condoms (or alternate birth control) for the first month you are on the pill.
Just curious: by your other questions, it seems as if you are very young. If you have met someone you are only going to see for a week, you may want to not have sex with him. Why don't you wait until you can be with someone long term and already have a birth control method in place?
Good luck to you.

Pills take a while to get in your system, and shots sometimes can too. I agree with the person who said to stick with condoms, but you should also consider spermicide to go with those (read the directions though, because with condoms with spermicide built in you should only use one of those per day), and maybe even research the "morning after" pill. I don't know much about it, but I think you can take it within 72hrs of having sex and its a little stronger than the normal pill, but I don't think it can harm your system as long as you only take it occasionally.

Half of the birth control doesn't start working until you have been on it for a month or so.......so best bet would be condoms......

An aspirin held firmly between the knees works great. Use a different approach, wink wink
