The Seagull DF-300M is a Chinese made camera compatible with the Minolta manual focus system. In fact they are "clones" of the Minolta X-series cameras. It will be able to use any Minolta manual focus MD mount lenses (or older MC mount) but not the autofocus lenses. These are some very good and inexpensive lenses.

It should be similar to the Minolta X-370. The DF-300M version is a manual exposure only variant of the DF-300A, so it lacks any aperture priority auto-exposure capability. What that means is it's as basic as you get, and if you know (or know someone who knows) how to use a manual focus/exposure camera you know everything you need to use that camera (set aperture, set shutter speed).

You can download a manual for the X-370 (use X-300 link) here:
http://www.geocities.com/eskoufos/fmm.html
and just ignore anything related to aperture priority mode (A-mode) since it doesn't exist on the DF-300M.

By the way, it should be great camera on use and an excellent one to learn about photography. Have fun with it!

Try eBay from time-to-time. You see old camera manuals going up for sale, but it is totally unpredictable, so keep checking back until you find one. If you really want it and it's not "Buy-It-Now," just bid a ridiculous amount and you'll probably win the thing.

The Seagull was a copy of some other camera, although I forget what. (Yashica-MAT???) Perhaps you can find out (here?) what it was a copy of so you could try to locate one of those manuals instead. It might not be 100% the same, but it might be easier to locate a more mainstream manual.

Wasn't that an old Chinese camera? But I don't know where you could find a manual, sorry.
