If no, why are you surprised people want to come here?

Many people do and are quite happy. Poor doesn't have to mean starving and living in the streets, you know. We have various levels of poverty in the US as well, whether you choose to acknowlege this fact or not. When are you going to tell us where you are from and why you feel so entitled to be here illegally? I know, you'll just ignore me again because you know I'm right. I've seen some of the things you write in your answers. You think other countries have the right to limit immigration but we don't. It makes me sick that illegals feel entitled to special priveleges in the US. We no longer need immigration to build our population, especially illegal immigration. GO HOME! You are not wanted or needed.

I don't have to agree to be poor, it's just a fact of life for me and many others. Made worse by illegals taking OUR opportunities for jobs, education and housing, all while receiving many other special priveleges that we do not.

Bunt--illegals have taken most of the jobs in my town and driven wages down so much that many citizens have had to move just to find work. We have also had to build many new schools and jails to accommodate them. You should see this place! Damn graffitti everywhere and driveby shootings every day. I don't think you'd like it here very much even if you are illegal. You are the wrong color for most employers anyway.

Millions of American do live in poverty. Ok things suck in your home country, I understand that. So you abandon your own people to start a new life in America. How are you going to change things there, if you all leave. Your country will remain in ruin, to what purpose.
As an American, we were not given an american passport at birth. We were born Americans. No does not make me any better than you, it just means I have a different nationality.
When people come to your country, does your government expect them to abide by your laws? Or are they free to do what ever the hell they want? That is what Americans have a problem with. If you come here we expect you to do it legally. We can not help it that your government has failed you, and their is little that we can do about it. Because anytime we do try and step in, other nations start crying police nation, and complain that we are putting our foot down about the way other nations are treating it's citizens. Is it fair to expect US citizens to pay for you? That is what you are saying, whether you realize it or not. You were screwed over because of the country you born into, and now everyone in this Free Nation owes you something. Bull. It is not fair to expect those who are not responsible for you to fit the bill for you. That is what illegals do. Whether they fallow the laws once they get here or not, they are stealing from us. And we are raising their children, and teaching them. I work in a Social Services field in foster care. Their are a large number of illegal imigrants children who come into state custody. That blows.

Yes I would, but only if I had a better than average income...like say my Canadian pension....cuz I know living in poverty in a number of 3rd world countries is certianly no fun....but an income of say $500 Canadian per month is not enough to retire here, it is a relatively large amount in any number of countries...say the Philippines, Vietnam, Uganda and so on....We are very fortunate living in the west...if worst comes to worst and we cant live a normal life-style here...we can perhaps go a nd live abroad and live better there than the average...problem is...when we get old, we want good health care...

I thank you for your insight on Gypsies...I had no idea...

The US spends more on military spending than all other countries combined! Amazing. The richest country in the world cannot afford free health care like a little country like Canada....shame on you!

Yes I would live in a poor country. It has its beauty too and I agree with skyeblue, I've seen the villages in Yucatan, people are always happy even though they are poor. Yes I can understand how, many want to better their life standards as they travel into the USA and I think every human being deserves respect. I think the main problem is education and information though.

With the way the illegal alien burden is dragging down this country, we'll be a third world nation in no time. Then I guess the answer would have to be yes.

Yes. If you're trying to say that Mexico is a poor country, you are sadly mistaken. Mexico is just corrupt. Your people need to clean up the mess they started by allowing such corruptness and go back.

And just WHICH country are you speaking of???? Surely NOT mexico????
Mexico is NOT, i repeat NOT a "poor" country!!! Mexico is RICH in natural resources!!!

IF i lived in mexico or any place ELSE, i would NOT be sneaking off to another country ILLEGALLY!!!

You need to STOP trying to JUSTIFY the fact that you're here ILLEGALY!!!! We do not "feel sorry" for you!!! We do not "feel sorry" for all the OTHER illegals in this country!!! You ALL had the chance to come here the right way,and you chose to take the EASY way instead!!!! GO HOME and do it RIGHT!!!!

I almost said yes to living in a third world country.

I met the most beautiful phillipine girl, i had ever known. i suggested marriage to her, but she said yes, if i would live with her there in the phillipines. I thought she was kidding, and trying to see how far i was willing to go for her. I tried to convince her of a better lifestlye in America, but it wasn't to be, and i just couldn't give up my american ways.

Bunt, you are one of the most arrogant and stupid posters on this site. Americans aren't sellouts like you are. I would stay in my own country, no matter what happened. There are poor Americans, you know. You don't have the slightest idea about being American. You are always talking but you don't have one thing to say that anyone wants to hear! GO HOME, CRIMINAL!
