My niece's boyfriend had a swollen lymph node under his arm pit and the Dr. told him it was a infected hair) DUH !!! It kept growing and he took antibiotics to. They told him the whole scenario about lymph nodes and fighting infections blah, blah, blah....

I don't mean to scare you with what I'm going to say but......
He finally went to another Doctor they ran test and drew blood. He has Non Hodge kins Lymphoma, he had to do chemo and radiation. He was 20 yrs. old at the time that has been 2 yrs. ago. He is better and you would never know that he has been sick. He lost his hair and looked really rough. He was pitiful looking. I felt so sorry for him. As I said though, he is better.

There were alot of people praying for him and I truly believe that the Lord healed him. Don't fool around with this if it keeps growing get the advice of another Physician or even a Specialist.

Take Care and God Bless.

Lymph nodes are kind of like check points of your immune system. You probably got a small cut or pimple, or ran into a cold your body hadn't seen in a few years and your lymph node went into over drive prodution.

Our nodes get excited when we get sick but usually we are so busy being sick, be are hardly aware of the tender spots near out joints.

Keep going to the doc, you should be fine.

It is possibly a condition called Hidradenitis. Hidradenitis is a chronic inflammation of the apocrine glands, a type of sweat gland found on certain parts of the body. One or more red, tender swellings (lesions) may appear and fill with pus, typically in the areas of the groin, armpits or buttocks. Unknown cause. No cure but treatment is geared towards managing the symptoms. It may be an abscess now and may need to be drained. See your doctor again if the condtion is not improving.

Did your doc give you an antibiotic? How long have you been taking it? You may not have been on "medication" long enough for it to do anything (it can take a week to month before you see the lymph node shrink).

When my lymph nodes in my arm pit became swollen they found the cause to be a tumor in my neck. Feel around for lumps elsewhere especially around the neck. If you find any have them checked soon.
