Because most people don't know how to answer.

Ask your parents! (Or your friends).

The big fear is that older people who talk to you about sex are trying to talking you into it. Especially strangers, and especially on the internet.

The other thing is that sex is private - many people don't want others to know what they really do (not what they claim to do).

And finally, people answering general questions and giving information - some people think that giving kids information about things like how it's actually done, what fits where, how proper birth control works, etc - that telling kids this is like giving them permission.

Sex is complicated because there's an emotional component. Watch a movie like "Fatal Attraction" if you want to know what could go wrong... If one person is just using another, it can cause all sorts of emotional damage. Just see how broken up some teenage couples can get when one dumps the other - even if there was no sex happening. Add to that the permanent consequences of bad decisions - diseases, pregnancy, etc. - you can see that parents believe the longer they can protect their kids from this sort of thing, the more mature and stable they'll be when they do get into relationships.

to some people it's a big deal (depends on the generation they are in and whether they are parents or not), and to some it's not (those who are open minded and think people should know what they are doing, and for safety sake).

It could also depend on the young person's age. For instance a kid of 4 or 5 you give them a short response, you don't go into detail, and sometimes you even use childish words with them. But once they start to mature it's important that they ask and know.

It shouldn't be a big deal. It's a normal, natural subject that's part of life.I would suggest though to go to a reliable source.Going to different friends is going to give to many answers that may be confusing in the end. Tell your parents you want to talk and understand certain things or maybe a school nurse or guidance counselor. It's better to know the truth then guessing and do something you'll regret.

Depends on the question.

If you want to know facts, ask away.

A lot of young people in here ask stupid stuff that indicates risky behavior such as "what makes guys hot or what do you think is sexy) not the important details about sex and love.

It's not a big deal to ask. Some people just think it is "inappropriate" for some younger children to know about it for some reason. It probably has to do with a maturity level.

Some material is INAPPROPRIATE for certain age groups.

Take for example CALCULUS... you could be CURIOUS about how to simply a first derivative.. and integrating a complex equation, but that doesn't MEAN you'd be able to fathom it.

If you 8 years old and you want to understand INTIMACY, you might as well be talking nuclear biology...

If you have a question ask it... but it should be AGE appropriate.

because a lot of people ask completely STUPID questions about sex, such as "my boyfriend stuck it in for a few seconds after eating me out, am i still a virgin?" so if you're so young that you can't even answer THAT question by yourself, you're probably too young to know these things in general.

Truth they dont want you to do it now. They could also think to themselves what could happen If you did do it. They are more concerned with the outcome of having sex to early, like std's or getting a girl pregnant.

Because once you start asking, then comes the doubt, and as you might already know from other stuff, you would like to try

I think people might think your having sex when your asking questions about it. I think that's the mistake a lot of parents make, they assume things instead of talking about it with their kids.
