Can I do something to fix the problem?

There is nothing you can do, Because its an incompatiblity issue. Different dvd-r have different dyes which is not compatible with all burners. I have found pioneer dv-111d to be best in compatibility

in order for the sony dics to work you have to have a sperate burner for them.also other cds work in them. its a good buy.

If they dont work, they dont work. Simple as that. Not all vehicles take diesel gas.
