Fresh not frozen oj is pasteurized and I have heard that this makes is so that we cannot absorb the vitamin C. True?

Heat does destroy vitamin C, but we boil vegetables for a lot longer than OJ is pasturised for (depending on the method) so although it may destroy some, there is plenty left. Fruit juices usually state on them how much Vitamin C they contain, so some will be added to make up what loss there is.

However, Vitamin C is an acid (ascorbic acid) and therefore may survive better heated in an acid environment such as fruit juice than a neutral or alkaline environment. Certainly adding bicarbonate of soda to green vegetables to maintain their greeness when cooked destroys ALL the vitamin C!

Raw juices are far better for you than pasteurized juices. Vitamin C is not the only thing that can get destroyed by heat, there are valuable enzymes that are really beneficial as well. You might find some interesting information on the link below.
