For me it's simple, I'm glad mom mother sacraficed a portion of her life to have me so that I can expierence life. Not all situaions are the best to be in (Rape and things of that nature) but all I can say is If I had sex with a woman and she became pregnant.

Whether she wants the child or not I would fight like hell for her to have him/her. If she wants nothing to do with the child once she/he is born fine I'll take care of my child. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's about responsibility and people can't own up to it anyomore. It's like no one has the GUTS to take anything uncomfortable on. It's sad. My answer is personal becasue I'm who it effects.

There are some people who want to raise children, even if they are poorly equipped to raise a child or having a child for all of the wrong resons. Even if it's likely that they will abuse their child or raise it to have an ignorant world view, growing up racially intollerant or with a bigotted religious view we do not have the right to force them to have an abortion. Until they fail to raise a person that's capable of contributing to society, destined to be a criminal or simply human debris then they have not failed and we have no way of knowing if some miricle could occur to prevent them from destroying a human life or really destryoing multiple human lives. Everyone deserves the choice not to have an abortion.

Murder is murder, and I agree with you, if a person decides to have an abortion they should pass a law that in order to abort your child you must also abort yourself...or why not just wait until the child is two years old and if a parent decides they don't want the child abort it then......regardless it is murder anyway you look at it, and there are too many childless people that would love to be able to adopt a child. If people don't want children then they should take necessary steps to prevent it.

I believe that when you abort you are a murdering a child. It doesn't matter how far along the baby is in your belly. Why would someone think it is okay to kill a child ? I just can not understand this. If they were raped or something , they need to give the baby up for adoption ! I am hard core pro life and no one will ever change my mind.

Two great secular arguments against abortion:

1. Randy Alcorn's "Pro-Life Answers To Pro-Choice Arguments."
2. Patrick Lee's "Abortion and Unborn Human Life."

Both are completely secular (though Alcorn provides a religious section in the back completely detached from his earlier arguments). I suggest reading Alcorn's book first. Lee's is a lot more difficult and academic. Not light reading.

Both are available on amazon.com.

Mine is also pretty simple. I believe life begins at conception. It's taking a life period. as a volunteer at a pro life crisis pregnancy center I saw first hand how many women used abortion as birth control. Prior to volunteering I really had no clue how many women had multiple abortions (I mean several in a 12 month period) It is very sad considering how easily anyone can obtain birth control....

Well without religion my answer is the same. I don't believ in killing babies. People can say that it is not a baby all they want, you are still killing something was to be a child. For women who got rape I don't agree with that either but I'm not blaming them. Although the fetus will still suffer. It didn't hurt you the man did. To me its like," I'm sorry you don't want me if you want to kill me I guess I was a abomination, I'm sorry I did this to you, even though it really wasn't me." If I got raped I would have it and love it if him/her if I was financialy stable if not I would put him/her up for adoption. And for those who didn't get raped and just happen to spread their legs of their own free will, Take responsibilty, people know the risks. Able to get knocked up able to give birth to it. If I was going to die from having my child i would die for MY child I had my chance to live. That is really selfish to kill for your own life but w/e. I will never agree with abortion and no-one can change my mind.

I believe if the egg and sperm doesn't have a heart bet then it doesn't matter .. The woman has a right to do with her body what she wants if the fetus has a heartbeat then the child should be brought to term and given up for adoption if she doesn't want it ... If they discover the fetus is deformed in any matter then that is between the parents and God If the birth of the child will possibly kill the mother then so be it .. obviously God wants the child in the world for some reason and the mother should be gracious God choose her DNA to carry on ..

I respect your convictions, but understand and allow me to come to my own decisions.

I don't believe life begins at conception. The first few weeks a fetus is just a conglomerate of cells--at risk for a miscarriage anyways. I don't see anyone burying thier menstrual blood and naming it with a headstone.

On the other hand if I were more than several months pregnant, then I wouldn't want an abortion. Respect that this is my conclusion, and my decision, as I respect yours.

In response to Jade's comments:

"I don't believe life begins at conception. The first few weeks a fetus is just a conglomerate of cells--at risk for a miscarriage anyways. I don't see anyone burying thier menstrual blood and naming it with a headstone."

This is a poor pro-choice argument. So what if you do not personally believe life begins at conception. What stops me then from saying I don't believe life begins at birth? Perhaps I say life begins when you say your first word. Plus, as for the headstone comment. That is merely a cultural thing. BY your argument, a person who is murdered and disposed of, never found, no funeral or gravestone isn't a person. Your argument is a fallacy.
