And what happens if you consume too much soy protein?

Some people are sensitive to soy products and one of the side effects might just be excess gas. Soy beans are extremely high in fiber and lots of fiber can cause gas. Too much protein of any kind is hard on the kidneys but you would have to consume large amounts for a long period of time to cause any problems in normal, healthy person.

soy can cause gas but if you take beano or something before you eat, it will help, as for soy protein, I don't know what will happen if you consume too much, but if it is like regular protein, ie peanut butter, meats,ect... you will probably just feel full, like you have eaten a big meal.

Definitely, generally start slowly, or mix a soy cereal with a regular, use good judgment, then 'all will be well'.
