That is a pleasure of the flesh, not the soul...it doesn't make much since to me, so please explain....and don't just put a long list of scripture that I won't read. Use your words, allah gave you a brain, use it!

Yeah, good point...what do the women get...last thing we would want is 72 horny guys--hehe.

I don't think that sex is bad, and I think part of the problem w/ America today is how scared they are of their sexuality.
I meant flesh literally, b/c when you die...you don't exactly have flesh anymore.

it sounds like the kind of 'pie in the sky' (sorry, no pun intended) bull that a con-man would use to influence poor, uneducated, tribesmen to 'join up' with the cult of islam.

who would the con-man be? muhammed, perhaps?

pie-in-the-sky (that's cute, isn't it?)

lol

this 72 virgin stereotype is exagerated by the media. I know you are refering to muslims,

let me clarify you that in paradise, whatever our hearts desire, he or she will get. wheter it be 72 , 720 or just 1.

the point is whatever heart desires.

and same with woman.

----------------

----------------------------------

what women get in the paradise is exactly the same as men. in arabic when you speak to a group of people containing men and women you speak to them using the masculine verbs. however, in the Quran many times Allah says femals or males many times (but not always) to make it clear that the talk is not toward men only but also to women.
also, the paradise contains whatever one desires. so, it's obvious that if women desires men then they can have it.
something else to note is that women are genearally more shy then men. imagine the Quran speaking about virgine men her and there that will really embrace us women.

Surah 3:195

So their Lord accepted their prayer: That I will not waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female...

Surah 4:194

And whoever does good deeds whether male or female and he (or she) is a believer -- these shall enter the garden, and they shall not be dealt with a jot unjustly.

Surah 16:97

Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did.

Surah 33:35

Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember -- Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward.

Surah 36:56

They and their wives shall be in shades, reclining on raised couches

Surah 39:34

They will have with their Lord whatever they desire; that is the reward of those who good.

Surah 43:70

Enter the garden, you and your wives; you shall be made happy.

I'm not Muslim...but thought it was 72?

I must agree with you and look forward to the answers.

((I've often thought that their prophet knew how to draw them in...use sex and not just any sex but sex in the after-life.))

Hey if the men get 72 virgins, where do the virgins come from?

...AND what do the women get? What's their prize?

There is no 77,72 70,and whatever number you guess out of your heads, virgins........

There is no scripture in the Quran that says that when we die we are going to get "72 virgins".
But I do think sunnis and wahabi muslims believe in this,- that is not what I was taught though.....

It doesn't also make sense to me--why you think the pleasure of flesh is something bad??? It's Christian doctrine that FLESH implies something bad--not a Muslim(or even Jewish) one. That is one of the reason why
Christians are encouraged to be eunuchs and they are encouraged not to marry. In Heaven a Muslim will have both physical and spiritual pleasures. The highest of those pleasures will be infact spiritual--that is--they will see God. Sin doesn't exist in heaven. And we don't equate sin with flesh--unlike you. According to Islamic Theology we will be resurrected with our physical body and will go to heaven and hell with that. Women won't get 77 virgin guys. They will be satisfied with one guy--her former husband(incase she had several husbands--God will decide one of them--probably the most pious one) or incase
she is unmarried--God will get her married in heaven with a guy.
God knows best.

I don't think most Muslims believe in that when they go to heaven. Most Muslims have their own version of heaven, and most of what the media sensationalized was what a few extremist desire in their version of heaven.
