It is "immigration" ;)

People follow the money. This does not mean they have any love for this country. What they want is a better life than they had in their "own" country. So many people leave Cuba, for example, that things can't be that good there. They also believe that leaving has a very high probability of improving their lifestyles. Pretty simple, isn't it?

A wall will only cause death and violence. I think it should be avoided. There is no cultural core in this country, so there's really nothing to be done. We have to try to manage our consumption better and work on energy production. The state of education in the USA--well that's another problem.

There is too much of a history of allowing almost free travel from certain areas, while there are tons of roadblocks to certain people to get in the country legally. I went to school with engineering students from the middle east who genuinely wanted to become citizens, and they were hit with so much red tape and lawyers fees, it almost would cost as much as an education.

The core of the problem is poverty. Poverty begets poverty. The "projects" beget more "projects." Inidividuals do sometimes choose to get out and have a different life path, but I think that's what people fear about too much immigration. Poverty also can be found in every culture and every race.

I hate to presuppose that the only thing that will reduce or eliminate immigration will be when the USA becomes a dirty, population-ridden, poor country with fewer jobs and a tiny but elite super-rich class. Then there would be no incentive to come here. In fact, I bet people would flee to other places. The doors of richer countries, however, would not welcome emmigrating americans though.

I believe we all have a right to become American citizens. I marched in the rally for immigration in Arizona a few months ago. I have many Hispanic friends who's families never want to hurt anyone, just want to work and support their family. I think our forefathers would be turning in their graves at the thought of "borders" or "walls".. after all, we are ALL immigrants to this country [at least, all of us but Native Americans] and America is known as a "melting pot" for good reason. Our ancestors came here so that we could to the same things that all of the immigrants are trying to do now... live free, live better and take care of family.

I do believe; however, that immigrants should HAVE to become actual legal citizens, pay taxes, vote.. etc, just like the rest of us.

There's got to be a better way than just... building some wall.

it's an invasion of sorts. Some of them want to be Americans and some of them want to use all the freebies they can get. We probably should have a fence with electronic technology and more border patrol. Yes, old GW has let me down on the immigration issue. Write to the politicians and voice your complaints. I noticed that quite a few of your answers are "very intelligent and constructive"

You know ...........something should've been done a LOOOOOOOOONG TIME AGO when the problem first began. NOW it's out of hand and people are screaming and crying and we have a great deal of hate and bickering all because of it. I think that if there is not a way of proving they are here legally they need to be deported, they need to be tested and so on and so forth and get here the correct way. Before they come they need to learn English. It is the primary language of our country

i ought to like it if we were to institute their immigration guidelines. seem in to what they make immigrants go via basically to artwork there. when I firest examine it, i could not trust what i replaced into reading. i do not concepts immigrants coming right here. it really is what this great u . s . replaced into depending upon. What I have a challenge with is even as they do it illegally. Doing it the right way is a soreness in the a** yet there are causes in the back of the approach.

Immigration has been a problem from the beginning when America was invaded by Europe.

There was a time when we welcomed those immigrants and gave them consideration; not attacking the fact that they couldn't speak English and their general lack of understanding.

But yes, it time to take this country back from the non-American pieces of sh*t that come here from all over the world.

Thanks for pointing that out. By the way, do you need a passport to get back to your country? Does your country us USA currency? I'm sure you have to get the f*ck out of here too.

Like I said build that fence for 3.2 billion! We will save that in a week. Also the ones that are here could be used for the front line overseas, thus giving our boys a longer life expectancy

There is an invasion. No they don't want to become Americans' they want to turn America into another Mexico. We need a wall. George Bush should flush them out. About all we can do on a local level is put up with their ****. Mexican men staring at whit women like male dogs in heat. And them playing that awful music, loud. Like we want to hear it.
