Yeah....you will certainly get in trouble for harming your neighbor's dog. There are laws against animal abuse, but since I am a mother, I can certainly understand your anger.

Have you talked to the neighbor about the problem? If you have and the neighbor offers no solution such as keeping the dog fenced or on a lead at all times, or is being a total @ss. I would suggest you call the police and discuss it with them. Most areas have leash laws. Try to handle it legally rather than getting yourself into deep doo doo.

Good luck and keep the baby safe!

Uh...why don't you do the logical thing and call the police? They will have animal control come out and look at the situation. If the dog has really bitten you before what are you waiting for? Talk to the owner, the landlord, call the cops....This is not something that you can just take care of on your own-for one-that is an animal that has obviously not been trained at all..possibly neglected. That doesn't make it right that it's attacking you but why kill it? Inform the authorities that way the owner can be punished for his neglect!

Have you talked to the owners about the dog....have you reported the owner to the humane society? Make a report so that it is on record..they may take the dog away if it is an agressive dog that is trying to attack people. You really did not explain the circumstances...I am assuming you are not on the neighbors property when it happens...is the dog running loose? Exactly when is this happening? Are other neighbors experiencing this behavior from the dog? Have them report the owner as well. If the owner if that irresponsible..have a feeling that harming his dog will only get you in trouble, and the owner may seek revenge.

You need to call the police and inform them that there is a vicious dog on this property. Inform them that it has tried to/has bitten you on several occasions, and you fear for you and your children's safety. What will happen is Animal Control will come out and question the owners, and take the dog away from them if you wish to press charges. They will take the animal back to the facility and give it a behavioral analysis and euthanize it if they feel it is not a fit animal to be a pet. Next, get ahold of their landlord and inform him that the neighbors have been housing a vicious animal. And if they are letting it roam free inform him of this too. He will probably ensure that they do not bring home another pet. Above all else stay away from the dog. If you see it roaming about, go inside your house and call the police or animal control immediately. They will take care of the problem. Don't harm the dog yourself. It is not its fault it is like this---it is the people who own the dog's fault.

Is the dog leashed up? No, call animal control and they will remove the dog. Yes, try and talk to your neighbor about the dog. If they are uncooperative, then try contacting the police and telling them the dog is a hazard. Other than those thoughts, you might just have to stay as far away from the dog as possible.

I believe that if the dog is attacking you or trying to attack you when you have your baby, you have the right to defend you and your childs life. Do not shoot the dog, but if the dog is threatening, file a complaint with the police. keep them on alert. Have the police tell the neighbor to watch his/her dog. Keep a bat around, just incase. I got attacked by a dog once and i am terrified of them now.

It would probably be wiser to contact your local town's animal control department (dog catcher), or maybe the local police can talk to your neighbor and ask them to keep the dog tied up or inside at all times. Shooting, killing, or injuring the animal should only be done if you fear for your life while being attacked.

Call the animal control agency right now, and tell them, keep calling public officials like the housing authority, until you get a response.
Check if animals are allowed there, and check other neighbors to see if anyone else is having the same problem and get them to join you.

Yep.
You could go to jail,,
First, call the neighbors and complain..
Second , call the neighbors and complain..
Third, call the property owners and complain..
Fourth, call the police..
Once you have called the police, you will have made permanant
enemies out of the neighbors...
