Because the peanuts would get too soggy before the consumer ever got to buy the product. Peanuts in coke are not very tasty unless they are fresh. Buy a bag & do it yourself. It isn't really too much trouble & it's rather fun too. Haven't thought of that in years, but now I really want some myself.

Good question. You must be from the south! We used to drink coke like that all the time growing up. Maybe because the peanuts would get too mushy.
