I have a great dilemma. I am always trying to get things organized but they never are... only for a short period. I can't do anything else: study, read, or just relax if my dishes are dirty in the sink. Then I start cleaning and I see that something else should be done, I should prepare a meal... so I end up in housekeeping all day long and have no time to prepare for my tests and exams which are really important for me. I can do things I like and I need only for a day or so, and later everything starts from the beginning. I should start cleaning and cooking. I am sooo exhausted! How can I end this terrible battle? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I would suggest you spent 30 minutes daily meditating. By meditation I mean sitting quietly with eyes half open. Do not move. Try to focus on your problems and to find ways to be more efficient and more organized. Try to review your days and see if you could have done better.

Sitting 30 minutes without moving or doing anything else (no music!) can seem a lot, but trust me, it's worth it. You will quickly start to feel more in control, and find great ways to be more efficient.

Don't get upset, but I really think you should see a counselor about a possible obsessive/compulsive issue. If there is something there and you don't do anything about it and keep doing this pattern, it could get worse and it will take even more of your energy and your time (your life...) away from you. If you're in school, you should be able to see a counselor for little or free. From the tone of your question it sounds like you are already fighting hard against this pattern and getting no where. Please just talk to a school counselor about it. It doesn't mean you have a bad problem, it just means that you are brave enough to take care of yourself.

Set a time limit for yourself. Say okay, at 5:00 I am going to stop cleaning my house and start studying. And no matter if your house is a mess STOP. It works for me. But you have to follow your plan. When you said you would quit, quit.

you should try to relax and leave the things that don't need to be fixed right away alone. once you figure out what comes first, your time will be more managed, and you won't be as tired.
