Since both ears are buggin you probably:
1. Wax.
2. Allergy/ Head cold
3. Water trapped

It could be wax, but further than you could reach it, plus q-tips can push it down further.

Go the drug store and ask the pharmasist where the ear wax removal kits are. They are these drops of Caramide Peroxide (related to hydrogen peroxide) It will disolve any wax you do have.

The hold the dropper bottle under some warm tap water first because other wise it is cold going in the ear. Do one ear at a time. Hold your head all the way side ways, and put the drops in. Then put some cotton in your ear to hold it in. Then go lay down for about 20-30 mins to let it do its magic.

Take the cotton out, use the blue bulb thing to gently flush your ear with warm water. Let the water drain all the way out. Then I put a few drops of alcohol in the ear. Tilt your head to let the alcohol get all the way down in there. Then set your blow dryer on warm/low and air your ear out a bit.

Repeat the process on the other side.

Head cold/ Allergies
Take a decongestant like bendryl or sudafed.
Stand in the bathroom and and turn the shower on hot to fill the room with steam. Turn the fan off to maximize the steam.
Try putting a warm compress under your ears on your neck, this is where your estacian(sp?) tubes are. That is the part that feels clogged) The warmth may lessen the inflamation
Also try chewing glum. The movement may help, just like on a airplane.

Don't cancel with your doctor though, they should still take a look.

Good luck.

Be careful about telling people the best answer gets 10 points because yahoo considers that to be point gaming.

You may have wax that is impacted inside the ear, you may be shoving it in even further with a Q Tip. So you do need to have a doctor check your ears. Another thing is it takes 24-48 hours for an antibiotic to take full effect.

Try holding your nose and blowing through it, that will sometimes cause the ears to pop and open up .You should have them checked for wax obstructions

It's a wax accumilation problem. My mom had that prob and the doc suctioned the built up wax, which is normal with some people. Doesn't have anything to do with poor hygiene, it's just that some people get lots more than others. Don't push it in any further though, best go get it suctioned out. It's a routine procedure, don't be scared. Good luck

I had the same problem. I went to my doctor and he said to try putting a capfull of hydrogen peroxide in each ear. It will sizzle and foam and loosen the ear wax. Next, take a bulb syringe with warm water and flush the wax out. I do it on a monthly basis now to prevent it from happening again.

Just curious..why can't you take the meds? Do they make you feel sick?

If you have an ear infection and it isn't getting better, you need to take antibiotics for the prescribed period of time. Don't let this go, becuase if it gets worse it could cause serious permanent damage to your hearing, or even worse. You don't want to mess around with an infection in your teeth, ears or anywhere on your head, near your brain. It is not safe. Please go to the dr and get some antibiotic meds that you can tolerate.

Some ear infections have been going around my office. Get some rest and wait a week. If it doesn't get better, see a doc.
