The arial font, ordinary (I've still got italic, bold) has vanished from my computer. It's not in the fonts file. I've checked a lot of free font sites but none have arial. Does anybody know where I can download it for free?

Go here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arial

You cannot download them for free because they are a commercial font and therefore any site giving them away for free would be breaking the law.

Your easiest way of getting is to go to someone elses computer and copy the font of it and drop into your fonts.
