While being stressed does make it difficult to weight it doesn't make it impossible. A lot of people turn to food for comfort in awkward or stress full situations and in turn gain weight.

So just watch what you put in your mouth. And keep to fist sized portions of food.

Not for me! In fact, totally opposite! When I'm stressed out, I loose weight like mad. My appetite is less and I can't sleep...when I'm really stressed out no matter what I do, I can't gain an ounce! But each individual is different and some people find comfort in food. Now that I'm pregnant and have quit smoking, I'll definately testify to that. Just remember not to over indulge, exercise, and weight shouldn't be an issue!

Stress is supposed to do something to make the tummy fatter but also stress can make a person burn more calories. For example, fidgetting is something a stressed out person might do and that burns calories. Several years ago I was under a lot of stress and went from 128 pounds to 114 in about 4 months. I still ate normally but I was a nervous wreck. I wish stress still had that affect on me, but alas, age is catching up with me.

I suffer from stress & struggle with my weight. I have learned much about my condition(s) & I know one thing for sure. Excess weight causes stress, but stress doesn't cause excess weight. At least not directly. If you deal with stress by either not eating healthily, or by not excersizing properly, then it can affect your weight, & you may put the blame on stress, but it will be your choices, not the stress that is giving you the problem.
So no, I don't believe that it's true!

It is not true. What is true though is that if you are on a diet and you are under a lot of stress, your diet may fail miserably. Your body can only take on so much stress. If you want to lose weight, reduce your stress and get enough sleep and then your diet will work better.

No, that's not true at all! Stress can actually CAUSE weight loss! But if you have stress problems and anxiety issues and tend to use food and eating as comfort and a way to relax, then you have a problem. But if you are worried about just stress alone, don't worry. Don't stress about stress!

No. If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. Having said that, many people find themselves eating more when stressed out.
