I was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder approximately 15 years ago. I have overcome it to a large degree, and only under extremely stressful times (such as when Hurricane Katrina struck where I live in the New Orleans area) does any dissociative issues come out.

Here is some information and some links to help:
"People with Dissociative Disorders may experience any of the following: depression, mood swings, suicidal tendencies, sleep disorders (insomnia, night terrors, and sleep walking), panic attacks and phobias (flashbacks, reactions to stimuli or "triggers"), alcohol and drug abuse, compulsions and rituals, psychotic-like symptoms (including auditory and visual hallucinations), and eating disorders. In addition, individuals with Dissociative Disorders can experience headaches, amnesias, time loss, trances, and "out of body experiences." Some people with Dissociative Disorders have a tendency toward self-persecution, self-sabotage, and even violence (both self-inflicted and outwardly directed)."

See sources for further information on the disorder.

There is such a thing as a blocked memory.. is usually done when some traumatic event has been encountered.. This may be uncovered by hypnosis and allow you to see what you chose to block out. Perhaps even why you blocked it.

Don't diagnose yourself, get a proper diagnosis from a qualified mental health professional
