Ok... First of all let me assure you that i am not mocking, i really want to try this.
I need as many christians as possible to pray that i get struck by lightning sometime this weekend. I know, that sounds extreme but the odds of it happening purely by chance within that window make it the optimal candidate for this kind of test.
For control purposes only christians should pray for this, and i would like as many of you as possible to spread this through the christian community so that i have as many people praying possible. Also, please don't pray that i DON'T get struck by lightning... that could possible confuse god and screw up the results.
If you plan to pray for the experiment please answer with weather or not you will pray, what you might say, and how often you will pray... for statistics purposes.
Just think, if i do happen to get struck by lightning this weekend that's pretty strong evidence that prayer is effective. So give it your all!

That wouldn't be death by lightning and thus void the experiment. Also, im not nessicarily asking you all to pray for my death... just that i get struck by lightning... if this happends while im in my car i'll be perfectly safe... and though it is likely, i wouldn't nessicarily die from a direct hit.

I actually have a very satisfying life... I am however obsessed with certain aspects of religion (psychology and philosophy) simply out of curiosity... It's fun stuff to learn about. I also try to promote critical thinking and correct understanding of science and reason.

Um......okay where do I start..God is not going to make lightning strike you, even if every christian in the world prayed for it. God is not, and will not, make you get struck by lightning because he does not cause people pain, and he's not an idiot either, plus he doesn't advertise like that. He wants people to believe he exists by their own faith, not by some one trying to prove it. Maybe you should get all the christians to pray for something else for you, like wealth, happiness, love. But not lighting, lightning is a natural phenomenom that happens to you by chance. God has very little control over what we do or what happens to us. Freedom of will.

First of all, youre an idiot. And second of all, christians cant pray for you to get struck by lightning b/c that would be wishing death upon someone, which is like trying to murder someone, and the Bible clearly state "Thou Shalt not Kill". What a stupid idea.

More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of, you don't have to experiment, just live a life of faith in God.

God has a sense of humor and will certainly take your life, when the time is right, through whatever vehicle he sees fit. Don't be so anxious to be either mamed or killed. BTW you will be bringing this on yourself with these constant challenges.

hhmm you want people to pray for your death... wouldn't you be making them SIN BY MURDER? I don't believe in God but it is sure tempting to see if pray works for the sole purpose of knocking off another dumb one - Strongest survive
