Ok I going on 3 years of having my laptop, and like always with my computers I own its not as fast as I've 1st got it (the DVD and video program has been my biggest deals as of late with it not running smooth all the time and DVD not running with any program and to make worse it wil play smooth for a secound only to max out computer utilites and turns the video to choppy to unwatchable). Usally I would just format and quickrestore but since I have no quickrestore, with that formating will leave me with no OS basicly means no laptop and being broke as I'm, I can't (and somewhat won't with all the freeware out their on the internet) buy software along the size like Norton (and out of respect I wont to download bootLeg) so I need to know what software download(s) schould I seek to optimize my computer, espically in performace and ridding my computer of anything that may want to compromise the performance of my computer.

some of the freeware software will keep you pc going well but if you want it at top speed freeware software is not going to do that for you your need to pay to have your pc running at top speed as for nortonts lol that is a joke nortons cant stop anything at all just crap macfee panda and the noi 1 free crap of all time AVG ANTI VIRUS << that is free you know why coz it is so crap the people who have nortons / macfee/ panda / avg anti virus need to wake up coz there computers in one have crap on them that there anti virus cant see or the anti spyware dont see .. here is the way to keep a pc running at top speed and your internet this lot>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.....

First of all, let's deal with the problems that you are having with the DVD Drive, this could be something as simple as the driver needing to be updated. I will list the solutions, and Links in order so it will be less confusing to take care of. First go to driverguide and sign up for the free account, and search for the DVD Device Driver. Folks think that once something is installed that it should run for years without problems, not True, You need to periodically check this site for all your drivers, that get updates just like everything else in the PC World, Then let's try not to reformat all the time, this should only be done on a yearly basis if possible, Every time that you reformat, the hard drive goes through alot, deleting, reinstalling, and so does the processor, unless the computer crashes, the reformat is irrelevant.. Optimizer XP is a good piece of software to assist the CPU, and there are alot of Free optimizing programs on the second link, and another good site is MajorGeeks, they have alot of good stuff too.
