I think it should be banned nationwide, because the way it's made is just so cruel and unspeakable. Do you think it should be banned, either in restaurants or nationwide?

Yes definitely. This should be banned WORLDWIDE because it is so cruel for the animals. Restaurants should not serve it and customers should boycot it!. You are absolutely right. I agree with you.

I agree with you for the reason you state.

I would say that gethsemenerose is confused or just rationalizing or trying to confuse the issue. You aren't saying that foie gras is cruel (that's ridiculous). You're saying that the way it's made is cruel. If it can be made in a humane way, then I certainly wouldn't object to it. I assume that you feel that way too (?). What should really be outlawed is that particular practice.

Foie gras kicks ***! with some toasted bread and a glass of Sauternes...Yum! I think oil should be banned in USA, because the way you're getting it is cruel and unspeakable : you're stealing it from Iraq...

Sorry, I love foie gras. But it's a treat we get only on Christmas, and maybe my birthday if I'm lucky.
I don't think the way they make foie gras is any more cruel than the way chickens, cows, and other meat animals are raised for us to consume. If you have that big a problem with it, then just don't eat it.

I won't eat this for the same reason I don't eat other foods that are derived by torturing animals. I don't need it that much.

I think anyone who wants to buy it should be allowed to in any place that would like to sell it. It is FOOD and I think that to attribute "cruelty" to food is silly.
