A reference to another question?

Lets say we have twins that are seperated from birth, one becoming christian and the other pagan. Both very strong in their beliefs. If their roles were reversed- they would have different beliets. Anyway my question is this; do you think the way you are raised influences your beliefs? If you take a hard core religious person and had the "power" to see how they would grow up in a different setting - do you think they would still follow the same path? Or is everyone influenced by their surroundings?

I hope I'm saying this clearly.....?

Everything influences you. Even how how you are raised. The experiences can make you or break you. It is up to you.

People are affected by themselves. I have a strong belief in God yet I was not raised in a religious home. I have studied many religions and beliefs. I truly think when someone says it is because of how they were raised it is a cop out.

Its the nature verses nurture argument. How much of what we are, or choose to be, comes from WHO we are at the core, such as base personality, and how much of what we are is based on our surrondings, experience, and influence from others?

Truth is, noone, not even Science, can tell us why for sure, we are each of us what we are, or why.

Personally, I had no religious background, instead I was searching and found what I needed in Christianity.
