i have this friend who visited me, teary eyed. he told me that his elder daughter try to hit his head while he is lying on the sofa, just because recently he and his wife has a fight . this man is very nice.loving to his family., all his priorety is his family. he can't imagine that this family his taking care of and the daughter she taking care of will fight back .if you were him, what you should or will do? I dont know how to advice him because I dont have such kind of children.

damn! what has the world come to when you're thinking of pressing assault charges against your own kids!
parenting is the problem: in a family where mutual respect is advocated this would not happen. respect is taught at a young age. it should be made very clear to this teenager that this behavior is so unacceptable. if the family lets this one incident go, it will happen again and again...
she just needs to be slapped back so hard, that she gets such a fright and never do it again.

I am surprised at the anger toward the daughter with so little info in the question. It states "the daughter she taking care of will fight back." Fight BACK? What exactly is going on here????

My first reaction would be,to kick that A**,but I know that's not the answer. I would definitely talk firmly with her and let her know,that I WILL NOT be/feel threatened in my own home.
But do you know,if HE is really the mild manner guy you think he is? Was she trying to protect her mother?
Who really knows what's going on,know what I mean?
But he has some resources if she is a danger to him.
Just like they have Child Protective Services,there's some help for him too. Y.

The female of this house needs to pin her down and let her know that she needs not get involved with adult problems...If the problems are still going on when she's past 25, then she might have a say...
WTF? Trying to hit him lying down? Her own dad.......I'd be tempted to lock her butt in her room for 2 years...and turn her *ss into cheap slave labor in the home.

Tell him to rent a Madea movie especially the one when she goes to jail.
If i was him, i would threaten her, i would say if you knock me, you better make sure you run straight to the police station and tell them put you behind bars cause if i catch you, your a** will hurting.
I dont have any kids yet, but i know for a fact, if i hit my parents, i know i would not see the light of day ever again. Tell him that he is the parent not that kid, he needs to show her who is boss. I am tired of seeing parents being controlled by spoiled rotten little children.They parents shouldnt be afraid to beat their kids. As long as you dont kill them. But you have to teach them to have respect for their parents, if they dont want to have respect, then tell them to move out the house and go find some where else to be disgusting.

I had this problem with my son and I sent his butt to job core.You have to act like its his idea and talk about what a great chance it is.They take kids from 16 to 24 in the USA.It gets the brat out of the house too.Its job training and they live there.A lifesaver.

Well I have 4 and this has never been a problem....mostly because they knew that it would never be accepted. I personally would probably knock the tar out of them then call the cops.

She needs counseling. If she HAS hit him or anyone else in the family, he should call the police. She belongs in juvenile detention
