OK, there's this beautiful girl, I'm getting to know. Not sure if she has a boyfriend yet, but I'm very interested in being with her romanticly. This is where it gets more complicated. I'm confined to a wheelchair. I have this service I get, called "In-home Respit" where someone comes over for a few hours a week. To hang out, watch TV, talk, and whatever else. This girl I like, is this person, so she gets payed to be here. She is really nice to me, we have things in common, and communicate pretty well. Do you think she's just being nice to me because it's her job to? Is there any way, in this situation, to tell if she has any real feelings for me? Also, do you think a relationship could really come from this, or is it unrealistic, especially when she's on the job?

I have done this kind of work and still do, so I can answer this real easy. It is very hard not to feel emotions toward person(s) that are handicapped, mostly it is kindness or sometimes unfortunelty it can be pity. I am not saying that this girl might not have feelings for you (genuine ones) what i am saying is that the best way to find out is just to ask her. There is no sense in deluding yourself, any further. Just because you are in a wheel chair doesnt mean that you two couldnt have a relationship, it does mean though that ethnically she wouldnt be able to work with you anymore. So, you might want to consider that. Are you willing to give up what friendship you have with her, and her be able to work with you, or are you willing to give it a chance and make more of your relationship. I guess in a nut shell there is always consequences for our reactions.

It could happen, she might be being nice cause that is the type of person she is. But if you are unsure of anything, i think it is best to keep your feelings to yourself, cause she has to come over to help you out and you dont want to tell her how you feel and she doesnt feel the same way and then she comes over and the friendly relationship the both of you have becomes sour. Leave it as is. If it was meant to be, then in some way you 2 will become as one.

Be careful, because you may end up with a different person if you ask her out and she doesn't want to then feels uncomfortable about being there...

You could give hints and see what she does.. let her make the first moves??

Sorry, I know that wasn't encouraging!
Good luck!
It is possible!

I say, nothing ventured-nothing gained. I don't think it would hurt to tell her you like her, or even just ask to see her sometime "off duty." But if she declines for any reason then it would be best to leave it at that.

There is always that chance- talk to her get to know her. ask her if she is interested. Respect her answer no matter what. (that does not mean to give up , lie down and die - just give her room)

see if she's already taken first
if she isnt you could always see if she ever wanted to do anything (as friends) outside of her job
a relationship could probably come around if your lucky, but dont be to forward or anything, on the chance she doesnt like you like that it could end up badly

There's a chance. Tell her that you like her very much and see how she responds.
