I posted this question a couple of days ago, yet I didnt really get any good responses....perhaps I didnt word it well... Im hoping some people wouldnt mind checking the link and responding to that question for me..... I beleive it to be a good questions. It can be found here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AobwqGS1SbZ_kMqbFqCzNkvsy6IX?qid=20060828142903AAv6B2L

Please ignore the response from Julia Encarnacion - what she failed to mention is that I also corrected myself and provided her with four other examples she WASNT able to explain her way around, and this upset her.
Also, I apologize for my lame posting earlier about the Holy Spirit "filling me." A moment of weakness for a laugh. I apologize for any offense taken at that posting.....just having fun people....

THANKS EVERYONE!

Hey Ydoncha,

i think when people say that there is no hope without God- they are realizing that without God life is futile. All the wonderful things we have to live for- we can not take with us (our possessions, etc.). And as we see the world around us- it's easy to get discouraged.

People don't come to faith in God- just to CYA (as you state it). The Bible says that we love because He first loved us. I love God because of who He is. Yes he does offer me hope and i do live in light of eternity, but it's not the benefits of following God that causes me to follow God nor is it fear of hell. God has shown Himself to me and He is most certainly worthy of all of my life. When i accepted Him, i gave up the life that i was living (based on me and for me) in exchange of the life that He wants me to live and have found myself all the more fulfilled. This is just what has happened by following God- and not the reason why i followed God. i just knew that following myself was not leading me down the right road- and as i began walking with God i found his leading to be wonderful and righteous.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

ok......from what I see from this question and about the answers from your last question is perhaps you thought you had a really good question that didn't get the hoped for answers of agreement. Some people do believe in cya (which is self-centered); living by what YOU think is hope, is self-centered;and YOUR need to know what you could never understand is self-centered. The ages have proven that left to his own devices, choices, knowledge man can pretty much screw up a slice of soup. There is an innate and primal need for man to have faith, to believe and to hope for; because we know deep inside our souls there is something much better and more eternal than right now.

To answer your previous question, I don't NEED to believe to have hope. I have hope because I believe. I believe because I attended a special church service and actually felt a presence stronger than anything I could ever imagine. I felt the five fingers of a hand touching my face, yet there was no visible hand there. I felt a tingling sensation everywhere "the hand" touched and I got chills up and down my spine. I was not sick - it lasted only while I was in the house of the Lord (the church). I know in my heart that the Lord exists. I worship Him because of this experience. I know He's there and I know I will enjoy eternal life with Him.

I did as you requested and answered you first question. You can poke fun at my faith all you wish. You hated Christ before you hated me for being His. I understand that you are filled with anger.. I just don't understand why....Jim
