I always think it is sweet when a husband is looking for "just the right thing" - good man you are!
The best thing my husband ever gave me as a gift was a surprise - the whole day, he just catered to every need. Breakfast in bed, foot massage, he gave me flowers... we went on a shopping trip to antique stores (which we actually BOTH love) and we picked out something together.
It wasn't about the money, it was about the attention - and the attention to detail. He knew what I liked! :)
Go with your instincts and just treat her special... I think you'll come up with just the right thing.

What does she like? Maybe a gift certificate for a spa package at a day spa, or a romantic night on the town, or some jewelry?
The best thign my husband ever did for me was pick me up as a surprise as I was getting off work, then we went to a nice hotel in downtown San Diego and played all weekend.

Probably some love and attention, she may be feeling a little neglected. Pack a picnic lunch with a blanket, blindfold her and drive to a park or a beach, and when she takes off her blindfold she will love that you took so much time to prepare a nice lunch for the 2 of you... My fiancee did that for me one time and it was one of the most romantic things he has done for me...its the little things that count.

a massage, by you or professional...or both.
a day at a spa....
jewery.....
flowers, but they die.....
romantic evening away....or weekend trip.
