Well said, but I really feel I need to add this , if a person is in need of very serious help especially as you put it,"Life Threatening", the resources available in the REAL world , is where they should be asking. There are libraries, free clinics,,whatever the problem , they are out there , This site was designed more for , fun ,and just getting peoples' points of view not for doctoring , babysitting or any such thing. So PLEASEEEEEEE people think before you ask ,,,

The problem is, when you post a question to this site, you have no way of knowing who is reading it, and who will answer it. If you post something sensitive you need to be prepared for some less than sensitive answers, as there are some very immature, and also possibly psychologically disturbed, people on here. If something is really private and worrying you, maybe you shouldn't ask it on here, but go to a doctor or talk to a family member or friend.

Some questions don't need or merit a serious answer. Any life threatening problems should be dealt with by the relevant experts, not a random collection of people who may do more harm than good. Actually, I find some of the humorous answers to be worth more than the long boring serious ones. Horses for courses isn't it.

I totally agree with your sentiments. Yes a lot of people use this site to try and resolve a question they are probably to afraid to ask family, friends, doctors etc. People should not be to crass with their answers. Unfortunately what some people find hard to bear or need a question seriously answered others find funny and think it is a joke. For example the amount of questions asked about a man's penis is laughable and others are beyond being a joke.

Yeh I agree with that, I think the negative side of the point system is that people find it easier to give a brief rude answer that will earn them 2 points than a balanced well thought out answer, because 2pts is a guarantee whereas 10pts is less likely.

you can always tell when a person is in need of help, but other quests are deserving of a wisecrack for some are so naive its not real and whats-more people do that to get a funny answers back so keep on with the jokes but always use your brains for someone crying help

It can be pretty hard to figure out who'e being silly, and who's being serious.
That being said, there are some Answerers on here who seem to be 100% pure Grade A jerk.
Pretty sad that this is how they entertain themselves.

Some people just use it for points.
Especially when someone leaves a pointless question.
Thanks.
