Yes there are cameras, although there is not necesarrily a camera in every dome. They are connected to a closed circuit tv system that records all the cameras 24 hours a day. They also have undercover security that roams the floor to try and catch people stealing. Also, the camera in each dome can only point in one direction, although, occasionally they squeze two cameras into one dome. Even with all this though, it is pretty easy to steal from them if you really want to. I don't recommend it though, because Wal-mart does prosecute shoplifters. If they catch you stealing anything worth anything they will call the police and have them take you away. They will testify against you in court if necessary as well.

Yea, they're real.

But they're only part of the security. Most of the products that cost more than, say, $2 or $3 have security tags built into them that'll trip an alarm if you try to walk out the door without having the tag deactivated at the checkout counter. If you take the item out of the packaging to remove the security tag you risk getting caught by the cameras and/or plain-clothes security people in the halls.

A local Wal-Mart checker had a scam going for a while. A buddy would bring a high priced item to the checkout one of them wanted (or wanted to fence for drug money), and some small low priced item. The low cost item would be scanned and paid for, and the big-ticket item would be manually bypassed over the security tag sensor. A security camera and cash register receipt records caught up with the rip-off within a few days.

Yeah they're real but honestly they suck if they see you or not, it don't matter because I steal from Walmart all the time! But I don't steal stupid items like gum or pencils, I steal cameras gloves phone cases usually items over 40$ and I take off the security sticky things and I get a walmart bag and put all my stuff in it (without Walmart security tags) and I walk out as if I bought it all. Then if you want to make money go to another walmart (with an id) return an item make it look like it's been open say u got the wrong thing and u don't have a recite and they will write down how many times you've returned things and they do that by checking your id and putting the state and name in the computer then they will be like I have to put it on a card and then they will get out a card and scan it and bam you've made about 40$ plus tax and you can spend it don't act subspiciois about it though just be happy you've gotten free money it can be used for gas at Walmart pumps or at walmart!!

Do NOT try this -- Wal-Mart is VERY AGGRESSIVE in its Zero-
Tolerance Policy to Shoplifters. THEY DO Prosecute and they WILL Prosecute. Seen too many times the Local Police in front of the Wal-Mart with another shoplifter in the back being booked for their shoplifting.

Probably, but better than stealing from Wal-Mart I think its best if you just burn the whole place down. Wal-Mart is evil and will be the leading cause to the degradation of American society as we know it

Yes most of the globes are cameras, although most of Wally's shoe departments don't have cameras at all...the bathroom is a good choice, and The policy is if you are 18-65 we only prosecute if you steal more than 25 dollars in items...good luck.

They are real and until recently Walmart made a point of always prosecuting shoplifters to warn away the others. They got some bad press this summer and now have a minimum amount that will cause them to prosecute. I don't steal from Walmart so I have no idea what the amount is nowadays.

I believe the cameras are real. And if you plan to, please do not steal from Wal-Mart. It would put you in big trouble.
