I have a debt of about $1000 Cdn and my mom thinks i should pay for it. I've tried negotiating with her and family members but I'm told to solve this on my own. It's not because of shopping. Its actually health bills. My problem is I'm unemployed, and now is not the best time to ask my friends because they're stuck in their own financial situations regarding school tuition payments...ok all of us have money and debt issues. I'm in the process of looking for a new job and i haven't landed one yet.

I've already cut off my cell phone and i sold a few designer clothes i have for a good offer. I sold some of my stuff inclidong some cds, art, stuffed animals, CD player, etc. I only covered about $250-$300. I'm still about $800 short. I don't want to do anything that breaks the law(shoplifting, robbery, etc.). That's just not me.

Someone i've met last yet, an aquaintance, told me her biggest secret into staying out of debt and always having money......she SERIOUSLY DOES PROSTITUTION!!

She told me that she doesnt do it often and when she's about to go broke then she does that. She has rent and bills to pay too but her job pays exactly enuff for her to pay for those....she needs money on the side for food, transprotation, tolietries, and heatlth things and thats the reason why she does that......

Now she was telling me she'll willing to pull a few strings for me in order to get out of that....but i have to do prostitution myself, she's willing to help me get customers.....I almost have no other way out.....I'm still waiting for job interviews and acceptances to work but i have to pay for this within a certain period........

So my problem now is choosing to do that. I'm aware of all these infections and stuff that you can get when you have sex...... I don't plan on that forever, i just need enuff to pay for my huge debt and i plan to stop....she's waiting for my 'ok' to go ahead but i still don't know.....

Okay... a debt of $1000 is not alot of money.

Prostitution is not only UNSAFE, but it IS ILLEGAL. If you won't steal, what makes this a good idea?

As for your Mom, it is YOUR debt, you should pay for it.

It is $1,000, but that doesn't mean you have to pay it all at once. I am quite sure that the collection agency have already been intouch with you, they WILL cut a deal with you, and you CAN make monthly payments with them.

First off, call up the organization you owe money to, whether the health insurance company, the pharmacy, your doctor, whatever. Explain that you do not have the money right now and you would like to speak with a financial advisor about setting up a payment plan.

Second, get a job, any job. Even if it's McDonald's or Tim Horton's, you need some income to pay your bills. You don't have the luxury of being picky about where you work, so just apply at the next store you walk by. If you have a disability that makes work difficult, look for a disability rights advocacy organization that can help you find a job appropriate to your skills. If you are unable to get a job because you are a minor, then your mother's refusal to pay the bill is likely against the law and you should look into child advocacy groups.

In the meantime, try to prevent going further into debt from other sources. Your step of cutting off the cell is a good place to start. If you have any credit cards, don't use them. Write out a budget that shows where you've spent your money for the last year, and see where you can reduce your expenses.

Best wishes!

Well that's certainly an option but probably not the safest and wisest one. Look for odd jobs like babysitting, housesitting or house cleaning. Those all bring in cash right away and are not reported for tax purposes. The other thing is to call and talk with those who you owe money to and explain your current situation and pay a little bit every week...even $5 to $10 a week will demonstrate you are serious about paying and are doing the best you can at this time. If you wait for the bill collectors to call you then they are not going to be willing to listen. If you initiate the call you'll do much better. Good Luck.

Is there anyway to work out some kind of payment plan with the people you owe money too? Also is there any kind of assitance you can get from where you live while you are unemployed and medically unable to work. You need to repay it or it will kill your credit for awhile - pay them what little you can and when you have money coming in, pay them off. Every little bit will help. Good luck to you.

If you are low-income, or not employed, there should be a program out there that will assist you. Call the hospital/clinic that you had the services done at and ask them about their programs. I am covered by an "Indigent citizen" program here in the US, only cost me $20 for a $1000 bill from the ER.

$1000 isnt that much money, really. pay it off as much as you can when you can, but dont let it consume your life. if you call your creditor they will most likely let you set up a payment plan. they would rather get some of their money back than none of it.
you'll get a new job soon. and remember- youre an american! being in debt is patriotic!
but seriously, you dont want herpes. just say NO to whores!

Please, healthcare bills? Have you tried talking to your doctor and seeing if he/she can help you by writing off some of it, working out a payment plan, talking to the hospital? Do your parents still claim you as a dependent? If not see about Medicaid....go to you state health department and see what programs your state offers..and what about writing off some of it on taxes.....please get the book "Healthcare for Less" by Michelle Katz...this book can help you get out of medical debt...there are websites listed, suggestions on how to negotiate etc. It helped me....I am sure it will help you...and maybe even your parents!!!!

i think you should call a credit company to consolidate your debt. also you can file for bakrupcy charter 7 to clear your debt and not have to pay a single penny. Prostitution is not the option to take you are seroiusly risking everything there. you are risking your life basically. there are other options to consider

You are in debt for $1000 and you are going to prostitute yourself?? Jesus! That's is utterly ridiculous....how old are you?? You want your mom to get off you back....tell her what you are thinking about doing. Hunny, your debt is a drop in the bucket and I think it is really sad that you think that it is alright to prostitute yourself for ANY reason. What the hell is this world coming too?

Keep working on getting a job. Take the first job offer and pay it off as quickly as you can. Keep clean,
