Anyone know? I need a 1 gallon can of paint for my kitchen but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for one simple can of paint! I think Home Depot is cheaper....but figured I'd ask!

Get the Behr Paint at Home Depot cost $18.00 to 25.00 + look for mistint paint you might find a color you like $ 5.00 per gallon

It depends on what product you use. The retail products will range from $35-70 per gallon. These are the products that will have the awesome coverage and low or zero VOC, aka odor. They will also be the most durable. Then you have contractor grades. Your housing addition may have an account you can purchase under, which means you can get good pricing on a contractor grade product. If you go contractor grade and your housing addition doesn't recommend a specific product, I would stick with the better contractor grades, like ProMar 200 or ProMar 400. The 200 will cover better, and these now also come in OVOC options which I would highly recommend. Without the special pricing, most stores will correct the pricing of these to between $23-30. You may get better pricing under a housing addition or contractor of some sort if they purchase a lot of paint. The price in a 5-gallon bucket doesn't not differ much from a single gallon. You can usually knock off a dollar per gallon in a 5, which means you save about $5. I don't know what HOA is, sorry :) but you should talk to them and ask what their account is under. It will save you a lot of money. But if you choose the better products, wait for a sale! We almost always have one going or coming up, retail products only. The paint may cost more, but like I said, sales all the time! :) we also have a save $10 off a $50 purchase coupon you can't print off. This also will only come off of retail products. Sherwin is the best paint out there, trust me I've painted with it enough :)) happy painting!

The term you get what you pay for never applied better then when buying paint today. The paint at Home Depot, Lowes, or any True Value, Ace Hardware, and Wal-Mart is garbage. Your paying for colored water at those places. It doesn't cover, it streeks, it doesn't bond well, and anything you think your saving is void because of the number of coats and time your going to have to put into your project and you'll never get the quality finish that Sherwin Williams will give you. Why has Lowes made a deal with Sherwin Williams to carry there cheapest series? To finally offer there customers a decent paint option. Save yourself allot of time and aggravation with your projects and get a quality paint.

Like they say on the commercial, "Let your fingers do the walking. Get out the yellow pages
and call Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, Sherwin
Williams and anyone else you can think of. Of course, they are all going to say that theirs is the best quality paint, but you only need to know two things.
1. How many coats of paint do I need to put on,
one or two?
2. How much is the paint per gallon.
If the paint only needs 1 coat, it is probably a
higher quality paint. If you need 2 coats it is probably a lower quality.
Get a medium quality or high quality paint. Don't forget, the kitchen is a place where somehow everything gets on the walls, so you may have to do a touch-up once in a while. If you try to take grease off of a cheaply painted wall, you may take off some of the paint also.

Lowe's Carry's a lot of cheap good paint..the one i really like is Olympic and its thick and you only need one coat of it on the walls..i think its about $8 a gallon but i bought it in the 5 gallon bucket of paint for $47..I'm in the process of painting my mothers whole house with this paint and i definitely would use it again...

Sears has good paint ..it will cover good for a cheap price.
You can go with a more expensive paint if it covers good..like behr paint covers excellent but some people do not like it because it's a little thicker
