I try to eat food as close to their original form as possible as I believe it is better for the body. Butter is all natural so that is my choice. Go for the real stuff in small portions

Not only do hydrogenated fats (solidified vegetable oils) contain trans fatty acids, which are VERY bad news for health, unpublished research from a certain university biochemistry department (I worked there!) thirty years ago showed that even unsullied vegetable oils with high polyunsaturates stress the physiology more than pure lard.
The food industry has known about trans fatty acids for decades and kept quiet - shades of tobacco smoking and mad-cow disease!!!
Use butter in moderation and think about yoghurts with plant sterols to reduce the impact of cholesterol. Also don't forget that a balanced diet and moderate exercise counteract almost all the 'bad' side effects of almost all 'bad' foods.

Butter is not bad for you when you have it in moderation. Butter spreads can be real nasty so stay with what you like but do not go over board.

Butter is better and tastier; just go easy on it as it can be addictive. I used to use it on everything savoury from rice to pizzas, which isn't good for the heart, but butter is better nevertheless.

not really sure but you shouldn't get too wound up , try giving the family less anyway, if you are make moist sandwiches then you probably wont need any spread and they would soon get used to it.

I guess in small amounts you can use either, personally I prefere Margerine or vegetable spread.
