Because we have failed to tend the Lord's sheep as he instructed Peter after his resurrection.

This world, you must understand, is being ruled by Satan, the Devil. But Satan also knows he has a very short period of time to have his way. When we see all the negative things happening in our world, we are witnessing the hand of Satan. God is not going to tolerate him destroying and devastating for too much longer.
The Bible also states that when you see these things happening, know that (his) time is almost up. God's Kingdom, which we pray for in the Lord's Prayer, will actually come and throw Satan and his demons into an abyss for a thousand years. This will be mankinds time of liberation from tyranny and oppressive ways of that old world..."for He is making all things new...and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry of nor pain be anymore...for the former things have passed away." But God Almighty also hasn't forgotten those afflicted by the hand of the Devil...including those children so special to Him! He will resurrect these and promise them an everlasting life they well deserved...!

Youre living in a pre-Garden of Eden mindset. This world is no longer a garden but a battleground of sin and righteousness. The reason why people starve is that they others are not listening to what God told them to do; take care of the poor! Instead we have a record number of millionaires and people living it up buying yachts and siberian tigers when there are people that are skin and bones, no medical care, and few jobs not even a hemisphere away!

Dont blame God for hunger, war, disease, famine, tyrrany; blame the evil world. It is a great truth that God indeed loved the world, that is why he sent his son so that the people that love God in return may have salvation and a better life to come which is worth more than anything in this world including a full belly.

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. -John 6:33

Dear Crap a doodle doo,

Jesus does indeed love the world and all its children. That is why there are organizations like world vision who are doing their best to help those in impoverished nations. Jesus has clearly taught on our responsibilities as parents- and in some cases - people are starving because of bad choices by parents- or they live in a place where governments are corrupt. People's evil does not take away from the goodness of God. It's not God's fault that people are evil--- that's why Jesus died on a cross so that sinful people can become rigtheous people- and serve people.

Instead of ragging on Jesus- how about focusing on starving children. Check out world vision's website. i myself have personally donated over $5,000 to world vision in the past 2 years and am doing everything i can to raise awareness for the youth at my church and am also involved with IJM ministry trying to free teens who were sold into prostitution in Thailand and other countries.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

Because women have children with no means
to support them. There is no real reason for any child
to go to bed hungry. There is the ability all over this world
to raise all the food to feed everybody. There is plenty of
land and water, but it's not where it's easy to farm.
Real Farmers know how to grow food on poor soil.
Water can be "Piped' to anywhere, just as oil is.

Government is now allowing people to buy "Day after
Pills" to prevent Pregnancy. I say give them to
anyone who wants them. No one is going to start to have sex because the pills are available. Sex starts itself.

There is just so much we can do. We send our contributions to charitable organizations, that have such large administrative costs that very little gets to the children. Then we send thousands of government dollars to their governments and they hoard the funds or spend them on other things. And as long as our media will send home pictures of starving children this will continue. Its like an advertisement for more funds. Jesus said, allow the little children to come unto me, and he also said If ye have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me. Someone will answer some day for this travesty. Are you and I guilty as well?

Better question: why did god make the whole world the way it is -- where animals suffer from other animals who are their predators, where random birth defects cause major suffering, where bodies are built as defense mechanisms against the whole outside world, where the fragility of the body means that we need to focus most of our energy in caring for it (the physical and psychological aspects), etc. Reason? Because God did NOT create the world, bodies, time, space, children, adults, etc. Some theologies talk abuot this and get it into it pretty deeply --

You are referring to countries like Sudan of course.

That always bother me. But what choices do you have when the country leaders choose food as an weapon? God or no God?

While all the rest of the world is looking the other way, concerned about the real problems of the world. I suppose it has to be dangerous enough to kill us before we call it a problem or a moral issue and becomes worthy of our attention.

You are barking up the wrong tree....

God is love and knows even when a sparrow falls from the tree. Man on the other hand is not love and makes many mistakes, therefore the children suffer. The children suffer because of man made wars, parents who wont work and support their children and because of saten going to and fro seeking who he may devour.God loves the children and when one dies, it goes to heaven to be with God.

So many ask these 'mean God' questions, come on people, are we living in reality or not, children die of cancer, car accidents kill, earthquakes kill, famine kills, it's always been this way, it was that way when Jesus walked the earth. What would happen if the Lord jumped on every instance of pain and suffering, it's not earth anymore, it's heaven
