I want to get a dog, preferably a medium size one that doesn't shed. I don't like sitting in or seeing dog hair. It gives me bad feelings. I was eating at somebody's house and I noticed there was dog hair in the food which activated my gag reflex!So absolutely, no dog hair.

Hello everyone, my dog sheds very little he is a Soft coated Wheaten terrier twice a year he looses some hair in like those balls that you would see on the carpet right before winter and right before summer but other than that i have no hair ever i know this because my vacuum never has any hardly but this breed needs brushing everyday so they wont get matted and regular grooming. wheatens are in between 30 to 40 pounds and come up to my knees and i a m 5'6 so they are medium breed .

POODLES! underrated, in my opinion. but then I hate shedded hair too. I grew up with a half-poodle, so she never shed a hair and I got to thinking that is normal and proper for pets. Poodly hair must be regularly trimmed though.

also, I have known many Shih-Tzus and they are virtually no shed too, but need a lot of combing.

I don't know if there are dogs that don't shed at all (even Chihuahuas shed). My friends (several of them actually) have Malteses. They don't shed as much. But it depends on how well you groom it. I don't know about any medium sized dogs...

edit;;
Oh snap. I forgot about poodles haha. They don't shed and they're really smart ^^ (I don't read other peoples' responses).

All dogs shed. Opt for a dog with short hair.

One's with no hair... Any dog you get will shed atleast alittle bit, so you're better off getting a reptile or something with no hair.

All dogs shed. You can't get around it.

People will say that poodles don't shed. That is not true. They just shed fuzz not hair.

Amazingly enough, there are lots of breeds that have HAIR, not fur. My favorite example is the Maltese. Very smart dogs!
