I've met this guy off of a dating website, and we've talked on IM almost everyday. We have alot in common, little things and the big things. We've exchanged pic's, and we both find each other very attractive, and we have a ton of fun when we talk. But the bad thing is, that he's in Indianana, and I'm Virgina. About 10 hours apart. We're not officially "dating", but He was thinking of meetin up with me sometime (not sure when), he's asking for my number. I'm thinking of getting a phone card, that way he can't trace my number....but what do you when you're in a online relationship? or is it even worth it? how do you handle it when you really want him/her to be with you in something, like a friends wedding or etc.? and he can't? I'd like to meet this guy eventually, but I've neve done this kinda thing before. Anyone who has experience in this, help!! thanks!!

If you call him then just use *67 and that will block your number. I wouldn't give him your home number. A cell number should be fine. If you plan tomeet, then you shouldn't meet him alone. Be sure to have a friend with you. Your friend doesn't have to stay by your side but close enough to be there if you need him/her. There is nothing wrong with online dating, you can meet great people but also not so great. maybe after you meet things might change for both of you. If you still like each other than someone will just have to move. Make trips back and forth if you can afford it. It might be fun.Just be careful.. I found my man online and we have been together since.. Good Luck..

First of all, the person you know online will NOT feel the same once you meet them in person. I'm not saying he's lying to you or anything. The fact is, that we perceive things online differently; personalities, etc. You may get along fine on the phone, online, etc. But, the true test will be meeting in person and see if you hit it off.

Good luck.

Just don't bother. I have friends who have tried online dating and it has always ended badly. Just keep it to an online friendship, even if you meet and he is normal you will spend a fortune on travel and will barely see each other.

Sorry i haven't experianced this b4 but alot of people do this.. So you should probably get a phone card first and call him and then if he sounds normal start talking more.

LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS USUALLY NEVER WORK .THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH "SPACE" & THE TRUST ISSUES ARE ALWAYS THERE. PLUS YOU NEVER KNOW WHO ELSE HE COULD BE TALKING TO, OR IF HE IS REALLY MARRIED... USE A UNTRCEABLE PHONE CARD & PLS BE VERY CAREFUL.

I never cared for on-line dates! Just does not seem real to me.
